INFORM’s GroundStar system will be implemented at Verona Airport.
INFORM’s Italian partner Sirius Technology proudly announces the imminent arrival of GroundStar at Verona Airport. Verona is situated in the region of Veneto, one of Italy’s most beautiful and most visited regions, which has Venice as its capital, and is among the wealthiest and most industrialised regions in Italy.
In addition to GS Planning, Verona Airport also ordered GS Rostering ,RealTime and CRM for its Passenger Services, Ramp Services, Aircraft Loading and Stand allocation. “Due to the increasing air traffic at Verona Airport, it is inevitable that IT system support has become necessary to improve our global efficiency. The reputation of INFORM on the market, as well as the positive feedback from existing INFORM customers convinced us to opt for GroundStar” says Mr. Gianluigi Bonfanti, ICT Director at Verona Airport.
GS Planning and Rostering will support demand, shift planning and rostering , while GS RealTime will control the real-time deployment of staff and equipment .
The corresponding implementation phase started in August, and the modeling phase had been completed by the end of 2008.
GS CRM went live in Januar 2009. This module is used to create and maintain contracts and SLAs for the ground handling services provided by Verona Airport to its airline customers. In addition, GS CRM provides for automated generation of invoices for contracted and additional services.
The project is managed by Sirius Technology, with technical support provided by INFORM. “We are looking forward to managing this project and will of course benefit from the positive experience of previous joint projects in Italy,” says Nicola Rigoni, the Sirius Technology Project Manager.
Established as a military airport during the Second World War, Verona Airport has steadily grown into an international airport; in 2006 it achieved a figure of 3 million passengers for the first time. The airport considers itself to be the second Italian hub for charter flights and third for long-haul charter flights. Well-known national and international airlines such as Lufthansa, Air France, British Airways have a presence at the airport. A new terminal was opened in June 2008.
