Budapest Airport Buys Complete GroundStar Suite

Brussels Airlines Goes Fast
Brussels Airlines is already seeing the
benefits of GroundStar.

GS Planning has decreased the Brussels Airlines planning exercise
from 3 weeks to 1 day. Changes can now be handled much more
easily and are less time-consuming. Even what-if-scenarios can be
carried out with little effort. The workforce calculation has become
precise and can be proven by reports. GS Rostering has reduced
the rostering process from 2 weeks to 3 days. A big portion of the
routine work is now undertaken by the Genetic Algorithm, which
helps to accelerate the whole process.
GS RealTime allows for a much higher workload of the operation in
general. Dispatchers are pleased because changes are easy to
handle and the allocation process has become more accurate. In
particular, the multiflight calculation has become very precise.
Difficult situations, such as bad weather conditions, have proven
easier to handle.
The system has been implemented within just six months. ”This has
been a fast implementation and was made possible by the high
level of motivation from both Brussels Airlines and INFORM. It is a
pleasure to work with these teams,” says Carsten Söhrens,
INFORM Project Manager.
Brussels Airlines uses GS Planning, GS Rostering and GS RealTime
for passenger services, check-in, boarding staff and crew transport, as well as Staff Notification for automated communication, Web
Terminal functionality and GS Business Intelligence System for the
reporting process.
”GroundStar has uncovered multiple areas for improvement and
successfully supports our most important processes from planning
and rostering to the deployment of resources on the day of operation.
This is why GroundStar is an important tool in our constant strive to
deliver the best possible service to our passenger,” says Frank
Amerijckx, Dispatch Officer for the Ground Operations.
